Bonzer Wolf It’s MAY DAY
May Day has been a traditional day of festivities and celebration throughout the centuries. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than buying a new gun. So I went last night after watching Big Daddy on YouTube and purchased this “target” assault rifle.

May 1 is also recognized in the U.S. as Law Day. It is meant to reflect on the role of law in the foundation of the country and to recognize its importance for society. We have more than 22,000 gun control laws on the books in the USA. Keep reading to find out about one of the dumbest.
There is no more recognizable .22 rifle on the planet than the Ruger 10/22. Last month Ruger released a new 10/22-TD, MSRP $389, which stands for “Takedown,” and it is a completely new design for the gun. It even comes with its own backpack. I picked up one last night at Academy Sports for $320.
New York has hundreds of gun laws. It’s a felony to possess an “assault weapon” in the state of New York in just about anyplace except your home. I’m sure that does not come as a surprise. But I bet you didn’t know that the Ray Kelly head of the NYPD classifies any 22 caliber rifle capable of holding more then 5 rounds as an assault weapon! I kid you not. You can be charged with the felony offense of possessing a assault weapon in New York City for owning a .22 target rifle!
New York has a law stating that legal “Assault Weapons” under the their definitions will have to be ether surrendered or submitted for testing and holding while a background check is being performed. Upon completion of the background check, the “testing”, the ballistic fingerprinting of the firearm, the registration of the firearm, and the return of the weapon in a sealed container, the owner will not be prohibited from possessing the firearm.
The firearm will only be allowed to be possessed “on property owned or immediately controlled by the person, or while on the premises of a licensed gunsmith for the purpose of lawful repair, or while engaging in legal travel to or from these locations by a person who lawfully possessed these weapons…(Section 4, E)”
“Section 2, 22. “Assault Weapon” means Any:
semi-automatic or pump-action rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and has ONE or more of the following:”
Illegal items:
-Pistol grip
-VFG
-Folding, telescoping, or THUMB HOLE STOCK
-Handguards and rails
-Muzzle devices
Semi Shotgun that has ONE or more:
-Pistol Grip
-Folding telescoping, or thumb hole stock
-Fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds or a detachable magazine
“The New York state legislature finds that semi-automatic assault weapons are military-style guns designed to allow rapid and accurate spray firing for the quick and efficient killing of humans. The shooter can simply point - as opposed to carefully aim - the weapon to quickly spray a wide area with a hail of bullets.”
Seriously, this is the law in New York. Forty four states, including New York have a provision in their state constitutions similar to the Second Amendment in the U.S. Constitution. Yet states like California, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, and New Jersey have similar “assault weapon” bans.
But if you live in one of the many REAL Second Amendment states like Texas you can have as much fun as Big Daddy with a 10/22 TD. I’m taking mine out tomorrow. For now, enjoy the video.
Big Daddy loves you but New York City hates you!
